Monday 24 March

• The South Sudanese government dropped their demand that the former detainees must be excluded from the IGAD peace talks if the talks are to proceed.
• Clashes between the SPLA and the SPLA-in-Opposition in Nasir County (Upper Nile).

Tuesday 25 March

• Peace talks in Addis Ababa resumed.
• UN warned of a potential food crisis in South Sudan and requested increased financial support.
• SPLA-in-Opposition advanced in Jonglei.
• Disagreements over SPLA/M-in-Opposition support created divisions among the leadership in Greater Equatoria.

Wednesday 26 March

• Treason hearing adjourned.
• Sudan Tribune reported from the treason that the prosecution witnesses did not provide evidence linking the four on trial to a coup attempt.

Thursday 27 March

• Salva Kiir promised to deliver “genuine reconciliation”.
• SPLA/M-in Opposition warned that they may boycott the peace talks as a protest to the continued presence of Ugandan troops.
• A university official in Juba expressed his support to Riek Machar to the Sudan Tribune.
• Clashes in Lakes State.
• 12 were killed and 14 injured in clashes in Duk County (Jonglei).
• CAJ News reporyed that the South Sudan government has asked for Zimbabwean troops to be deployed in South Sudan.

Friday 28 March

• A UN report stated that more than 1 million people have been forced to leave their homes in South Sudan since the outbreak of conflict 15 December 2013.

Saturday 29 March

• Western diplomats reiterated their support for the UNMISS.
